There will be NO SCHOOL on May 6th due to Staff Development. Enjoy your time off!

Please join us Saturday, May 4th! Where real men talk about real stuff. No topic is untouchable. During these sessions, the Bible is used to help us understand how to maneuver this complicated world. Lead by Wayne Bugg and Dr. Darrell Gillespie. We will be meeting the first Saturday of every month from 10:30am-12:00pm in the Hope Academy Cafeteria!

Summer Session registration is due Sunday, May 5th! Summer Session is a time of learning through camps, field trips and activities. It is required for all K-8 students and runs June 10-July 3 from 8:30am-12:30 pm.

To Register:

• ‍Fill out the Summer Session form below. This form lets us know if you need a summer session t-shirt, if your child is riding the bus, and if you choose any additional camps.
•  Pay for any camps or summer session t-shirts. To pay please stop by the front office. We take cash, check or card! (please note that camps have increased in price by $10 since last year, camps are now $20).

We are excited for the Junior/Senior Formal tomorrow, May 4th! Here are some important details to note:

‍

• Event location: Columbia Manor - 3300 Central Ave NE Minneapolis
• Event time: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Dinner will be provided, along with dancing, games, prizes, photo booth, and fun with friends.
• The dress code is formal attire
• If you are picking up your child, please be at the location by 10:50 pm
• If your child is going to leave the Formal early, we will need you, the parent, to call Ms. Sara Gidey or Mr. Ben Johnson to state that you gave them permission to leave early. Their contact information was emailed out to you.

Hope Academy Moms - you are invited to brunch with our Spanish speaking and English speaking Bible studies on May 8th! This will be held in the courtyard at Hope Academy from 10-12. Please bring a dish to share. In case of bad weather, we will reschedule. We look forward to seeing you there!

• 8th Grade Ceremony: Wednesday, May 29th at 8:00am.
• 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony: Wednesday, May 29th at 3:15pm.
• Acorn to Oaks: Thursday, May 30th at 3:00pm
• High School Graduation: Saturday, June 1st at 6:00pm

Parents of graduating seniors, your are invited to Senior Dinner on Thursday May 23rd! Please join us for a time of food, fellowship and memorable tributes to each student. This is a special time to celebrate and honor the Class of 2024 and their Parents. We ask that only Parent(s) and the Graduate attend, no other children please. There will be free parking available in our ramp. The dress code for this event is semi-formal. Please RSVP below (only once per Graduate) by May 15th. The 8th grade Valleyfair day is Wednesday, May 29th! The 8th grade ceremony will take place beforehand from 8-9am. Families are invited to attend the ceremony. A continental breakfast will be served, and it will be held in the Upper Gym. The parking ramp will be open for your convenience. We hope to see you there!

Permissions slips should be filled out before the trip. The permission slip can be accessed by clicking below. It was also emailed to all 8th grade parents. This year the school received free Valleyfair tickets so there will be no cost to families! Reminder: The school dress code still applies for Valleyfair. Shorts must be longer than fingertip length, no spaghetti strap tank tops, and appropriate swim wear must be brought. There will be water rides available so make sure to dress accordingly!

Kindergarten and 1st grade parents: Join us for monthly parent groups! These required groups will meet once a month for an hour at Hope Academy (virtual option also available). They will be led by Dr. Darrell Gillespie and cover topics like sibling rivalry, tough conversations, community building and much more! Sign-up below for the time slot that works best for you to join each month (virtual, evening, or during the day). They will go from October - May. These are required monthly meetings for parents of Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Students do not need to attend. One or both parents may attend the sessions. Register below!

Exciting news! ALL STUDENTS can get one breakfast and one lunch FREE of charge each day at school this year! This is in partnership with Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program. Interested in a summer camp? Hope Shores (a local twin cities church) is offering a Bible camp this summer! This camp is a week long and includes outdoor activities and meaningful faith-building moments. The dates are:

• 9th-12th Grade - July 21-26
• Family Camp - July 26-28

‍Make sure you’ve downloaded the SchoolPass app to mark any absences, tardies, or end of day transportation changes for your kids! Watch the video below for the 5 things you need to know about SchoolPass.

• Mark absences in the SchoolPass app by 10:00 am. This doesn't automatically make it an excused absence. It just communicates with the school so we don't text you.
• You can mark absences in advance if needed.
• All changes to dismissal plans need to be made in the app by 3:00 pm.
• No early releases after 3:30 pm daily.
• Students will only be called from class when their parent/guardian is at school for them. Please plan an extra 10 minutes into your schedule so we have time to locate your student and send them to the office.
