Click here to view next school year’s 2022-23 calendar! (A few things will look different for the 2022-23 school year due to MPS calendar changes and time needed to train our Hope teachers in “Teaching for Transformation” curriculum, an approach to faith-formation that we are very excited to bring to our students in the classrooms! Notice that we begin the year on August 25 with “Parent Kick-Off Night” for US and new families, on August 29 are “Meet the Teacher” appointments for LS families, and classes begin on Wednesday, August 31. Thanks!
The local 7th grade mission trip will take place during the first week of summer session, June 13th – June 16th. Students will stay overnight at Hope Academy with Hope Academy staff Monday through Wednesday and return home on the buses on Thursday. We’re looking forward to this!
Reminder for grade 3-5 students to not to bring soda, candy, chips, or other treats to school. Many of those students often exchange their treats (chips, popcorn candy) for school provided breakfast, school provided lunches, and/or lunch from home. (Ex. Eating a bag of Takis & throwing away their lunch). We will not restrict healthy snacks from home, but we will restrict treats from now until the end of summer session; birthday treats will be the only exception. Soda has never been an option, but we will exclude chips of any variety, candy, popcorn. etc. Thanks!
With the end-of-day changes we wanted to clarify some of the Parent Pick-Up information!
1. 4:15 pm pick-up: If you have ONLY Upper School students, you may wait on Chicago Ave (because there are no buses). If you have even one Lower School student, you must go to the 22nd/Park Ave side.
2. All 4:55-5:10 parent pick-ups are on 22nd/Park Ave. Do not go to Chicago Ave because the buses are there.
3. Don’t wait or park in the bike lane while waiting for your child on Park Ave. Please drive around the block or find another spot in the next block.
4. Don’t pick up your child early if your child is in the Extended Day Classes.
Thanks for your willingness and flexibility to develop new routines! We hope this was helpful!
