Position:

The Head of Family Ministry (HFM) proactively builds close, personal connections with parents, staff, and students, with a special focus on building strong connections with our school families. The HFM actively pursues and engages with families, offering the hope of Jesus Christ while holding them accountable to their commitments and responsibilities as parents and families. Equipping and guiding parents to be the primary educator of their children, the HFM will engage families as they covenant together with the school to train up their children. This position reports to the Head of School.

 

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Plan and implement seven key “parent covenant events” annually and ensure parent attendance and engagement.
  2. Initiate regular, timely communication with parents to strengthen their connections to the school community and keep them engaged and informed.
  3. Serve as spokesperson at parent-facing events and build genuine relationships with parents.
  4. Offer parents spiritual guidance and develop and promote opportunities and resources for them to grow spiritually (i.e. Bible studies, workshops, connections with local churches, etc.)
  5. Provide leadership, management, and accountability for Family Ministry staff and volunteers.
  6. Serve on 7-member school Leadership Team.
  7.  Lead Hope Academy’s cultural harmony initiative.

Education & Skills Required

  1. Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Academic Operations

Type: Full-Time Salaried Position

Job Details

Hope Academy is seeking a personable, highly organized, action-oriented professional to serve as Academic Operations Coordinator. This person will have a passion for seeing the lives of urban youth transformed through a remarkable, God-centered education and will provide logistical support, coordination, and execution for functions critical to the efficient and effective functioning of the school. 

Reporting to the Lower and Upper School Principals, this position helps fulfill the mission of the school though a variety of tasks: 

  • – Serve as liaison between Hope Academy and several external partners (local colleges, public schools, Junior Achievement, Revive Youth Ministry, Inverted Arts, and more); 
  • – Assist with school event execution (parent-teacher conferences, year-end events, academic events, etc.); 
  • – Standardized testing oversight and coordination; 
  • – Reporting oversight, ownership, and orchestration including grades, surveys, results, annual accreditation, etc;
  • – Parent communication formulating and co-editing; 
  • – Assist principals with teacher and staff follow-up and assist Substitute Teacher Coordinator as needed; 
  • – Oversee student device distribution and collection; and 
  • – Other tasks related to the academic operations of the school as assigned.  

General Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree.  
  2. Microsoft Office 365 and Excel proficiency.  
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team member.  
  4. Strong detail-orientation, high follow-through, and ability to prioritize work and meet all deadlines and maintain confidential information.  
  5. Ability to effectively work in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and economically disadvantaged urban community.
