HIGH SCHOOL DISTINCTIVES
Hope Academy High School spreads a banquet of God-glorifying, classical education for the youth of the city. Our curriculum is excellent and college preparatory, but what most excites us is that your son or daughter will have deep, personal relationships with teachers who are devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
SINGLE-GENDER CLASSROOMS | Beginning in seventh grade at Hope Academy, students have their math and language courses in combined-gender classrooms — but almost all of our other core courses at Hope Academy happen in single-gender classrooms. We believe this helps reinforce serious study, but also helps set a school culture where we treat one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. |
COLLEGE-PREPARATORY ACADEMICS | Our goal is that all graduates of Hope Academy would be prepared for college-level work. Students are required to take four years each of our six core courses: Humane Letters, Writing/Rhetoric/Speech/Drama, Bible, Science, Math, and Foreign Language. Additional academic courses contribute to the development of a solid classical liberal arts education, with offerings in physical fitness, health, music, art, and others. |
SPIRITUAL FORMATION: MISSIONS TRIPS, CHAPEL, MENTOR GROUPS | Spiritual Formation in our High School is central to student life. In addition to our classrooms being saturated with a Biblical worldview approach, students help lead worship in our weekly Chapel, are part of weekly mentor groups, and also go on a week-long mission trip to New Orleans in 10th grade, and to the Dominican Republic in 12th grade. |
COLLEGE & CAREER COUNSELING | Career Preparation: Our weekly Athenaeum Lunch Speaker Series provides an opportunity each Thursday for 20 students to listen to and engage with Twin Cities professionals who share about their life story and career path. Also, during the summer, students in grades 10 and 11 in good academic standing are eligible for paid HopeWORKS internship. In partnership with local businesses, artists, and non-profits, students work and serve alongside Christian professionals for a month. College Preparation: In addition to our rigorous Senior Writing and Senior Thesis course, we take our students on regular College visits. Students also can participate in a free ACT Test Prep course. |
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS – HOPE SCHOLARS | All Hope Academy students are eligible to apply for a Hope Scholarship. The Hope Scholars Fund is provided through a partnership with the SAM Foundation and other generous partners. Currently, $10,000/year is committed as a total award to each year’s graduates and is renewable for an additional three years. Generally the $10,000 annual amount is awarded to one or two graduates.
