PART-TIME | Director of Operations (60% FTE)

Role

The Director of Operations will further the mission of Hope Academy by providing leadership and oversight to the Operations staff and managing outside vendors.  The Director of Operations will report to, and work closely with, the Head of Finance and Operations to assure effective, efficient and sustainable processes are in place in all areas.

60% Full Time (24 hours/week, all year) Eligible for all benefits,

Flexible hours with growth potential, if desired.  A small amount of nights and weekends are required

Duties and Responsibilities

The following reflects essential functions for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

        • Maintenance of the School: Helps create and accomplish a facility refresh plan for painting, flooring etc, Initiates and maintains high standards of cleanliness for the school, coordinates minor repairs and/or handyman help for the teachers and staff, manages all furniture and other capital items, manages all trash procedures and assists with the annual capital plan. Will not be responsible for any building structure issues or building mechanicals.
        • Security: Assures staff, students and visitors are safe when on school property. Assures school property is protected, manages parking and bus loading zone procedures, manages and inventories all employees’ keys and scan cards.
        • Set-Ups: Attends weekly communications meetings, coordinates logistics for school functions such as tables, chairs, parking, security etc. Should be able to handle very small set ups without any other help.
        • Transportation: Create a new transportation department, including buying two 10 passenger vans, manage drivers and schedules and adhere to all school transportation laws. Supervise bus rental for other transportation needs and assist with any other transportation issues.
        • Volunteers: Able to work with groups of volunteers
        • Student Connection: Provide a good character example for all students.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission and work of Hope Academy and a desire to play an integral part in growing the impact of Hope Academy.

        • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to details
        • Passion, enthusiasm, focus and positive outlook.
        • Professional appearance and demeanor
        • 5 years’ experience managing people
        • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
        • Computer proficient, including e-mail and office 365

Preferred Skills

        • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
        • Bi-lingual is a plus
