Because of President’s Day, there is no school this Monday, February 18th.
This year’s Middle School Math Team place 3rd in the Math Counts competition for Minneapolis. Hannah, Elijah, Sonaa, and Kieran were on the team that placed. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Malachi Thompson, 5th Grade, who has been qualified for participation in the Metropolitan Educational Cooperative Service Unit Spelling Bee! He will be representing Hope Academy to compete with the rest of MN! You are welcome to come cheer him on at the Regional Bee on March 19th at 5:30 pm in Neighborhood House at Wellstone Center, 179 Robie St. East, Saint Paul, MN, 55107. The champion will then move on to the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee in D.C. in May. Go Malachi!
The nurse’s office is in need of girl’s leggings and old uniforms (most-needed is LS boys pants and LS girls jumpers). They will take used or new leggings (in good shape/no holes if used). They can also use NEW packs of size small underwear for both boys and girls.

To cover the costs of staff supervising students, parents who are late to pick up their student will be charged a flat fee of $10 for every 15 minutes late at the end of the event. At the end of the school day (officially 4:25), this will be starting at 4:40pm. This fee will be charged to your tuition bill.
The next phase of our “Growing Hope” campaign includes the building of a new gym! In order to continue this work, the Parking Lot on 24th will be closed until further notice. Please plan to find alternative street parking if you visit the school. Remember, during every school day there is NO PARKING in front of the school between 9:00a – 10:00a and 3:00p – 5:00p.
Friendly reminder: to meet with your child’s teacher between 9:55am-4:30pm, please schedule a meeting ahead of time. Check in at the Reception Desk when you arrive. Ways you can do this:
- Call the direct phone line to their room and leave a voicemail
- Email the teacher
- Call the Main Office to request that the teacher call you back
- Call the Main Office to set up an appointment
We are happy to share in the joy of God’s blessing of another year of life! Coordinate with the teacher if you’d like to provide a store-bought treat for the entire class. Some classes have allergy considerations. Do not send party favors or gifts without making arrangements with the teacher.
Needing some extra help with food on the weekends? Sign up for a free bag of food every week, which your child will bring home on Fridays. Request a form to participate in “The Sheridan Story” from the Reception Desk or the Main Office. Families can opt in or opt out at any time.
Hope Academy uses an app to post up-to-date schedules for all sports teams (K-12). The app is called “Team App” and is available for download on Android or Apple devices (www.teamapp.com). After downloading the app, search for “Hope Academy Minneapolis” to view Hope team schedules.
