Overview

Hope Academy is a Christian, urban, K-12, private school located in Minneapolis, MN. Our mission is to foster hope in God within the inner-city neighborhoods of Minneapolis by providing youth with a remarkable, Christ-centered education. The Head of Admission will report directly to the Head of School and will possess a passion for urban ministry and for building community within a Christ-centered, multi-ethnic and urban context and should be a welcoming host and gifted communicator who can articulate the strengths and values of a Christ-centered education at prospective parent events, open houses, personal interviews, and campus tours. This person will give visionary and administrative leadership to the Admission Team and will demonstrate a high level of acumen related to the overall aspects of our admission funnel: prospect, inquiry, application, assessment, interview, and acceptance.

Responsibility Area: Admission Funnel

Prospect & Inquiry
– Create relational pipelines with all entry point grade schools (preschools and schools ending in 5th and 8th grades)
– Provide direction for the creation and distribution of print and digital admission assets and deliverables
– Provide leadership for all word-of-mouth, digital and print recruitment strategy
– Attend and present at off-site admission events at day care centers, schools, churches, parks, festivals, etc.
– Create a plan and schedule for internal quarterly Open House and weekly Tours
– Ensure the creation of reports needed for Hope Academy Leadership Team and Board

Application & Assessment

– Coordinate with Lower and Upper School Principals annual assessment schedule and mechanisms

 Interview & Acceptance

– Conference with Lower and Upper School Administration regarding acceptance or denials of applicants
– Conduct shepherding conversations with applicants
– Oversee and facilitate New Family Conferences

Other Responsibilities

  • Serve on Leadership Team
  •  Ensure annual Admission goals are met, maintaining strategy to find “right-fit” families
  •  Identify ongoing opportunities for enrollment improvement, target marketing strategy and process efficiency
  •  Work with Lower and Upper School Administration to coordinate All School Orientation, 8th Grade President’s Dinner and 5th to 6th Grade Info Night
  •  Create and oversee Parent and Student Ambassador Teams
  •  Send communication to relevant staff regarding enrollment or dismissal of students
  •  Meet regularly with supervisor for prayer, planning and accountability

 Basic Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
  • At least 1-2 years of demonstrated relevant experience
  • Previous experience working with non-profits and/or faith-based organizations
  • Growing follower of Jesus Christ who desires to embrace the Hope Academy Faith & Life Covenant

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong Admission experience in educational or vocational settings
  • Fluent and proficient in verbal and written Spanish

  • Competent skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other organizational / communications tools such as Google Docs / Calendars, MS 365, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology database management tools. We currently use the “Information Now” system
