Volunteer Hope actively works to support the learning and achievement of all students at Hope Academy.
We provide training to community volunteers who engage in meaningful volunteer assignments that meet a demonstrated need in our schools.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: please see below!
Volunteer Hope is a program within the Development Department of Hope Academy that develops volunteer programming, supports current volunteers, and maintains partnerships between the school and other community organizations.
Volunteers play an important role in Hope Academy. Every day local college students, family members, and individuals from the community bring fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and patience into our schools while assisting teachers, staff, and students. They encourage students and inspire them to reach their potential. Additionally, these volunteers experience a sense of fulfillment and pride in helping to improve our school for everyone in the community.
Volunteer Hope actively supports the learning, achievement, and spiritual growth of all students at Hope Academy. We provide training to community volunteers who engage in meaningful volunteer assignments which promote successful outcomes for students and teachers
Volunteer Hope actively strives to engage community members and families as volunteers in support of our school and students. Volunteer Hope envisions strong, meaningful relationships between the community and our school.

BACK TO SCHOOL VOLUNTEER TIPS!
You know your relationship with the teacher/school best. If you made arrangements to begin at the very beginning of the school year, feel free to make that happen.
Many teachers need a couple of weeks with their students before introducing volunteers into the classroom. If you don’t have prior arrangements to start right away, consider waiting to connect with your teacher until the beginning to middle of September.
Get to know those students’ names! Using a child’s name when speaking to them is a volunteer best practice and a great way to begin building relationships!
Make sure that you’ve been oriented as a volunteer! If you haven’t, email Erin to sign up for a fall orientation session.
Give it time – just like returning volunteers, new volunteers should wait a few weeks before requesting to jump into the classroom. Some classes can take volunteers immediately, but expect to wait for students and classes to settle in.
Jump in! Don’t limit yourself to what you think volunteering at a school should look like. Try volunteering in a new grade, new subject matter, or in an after school program to get a little bit outside your comfort zone! Teachers will begin requesting volunteers after the first few weeks of school – make sure to check our website for updated volunteer opportunities!
Advocate for yourself. We won’t know where to place you if you aren’t able to indicate your interests! Before inquiring about becoming a volunteer, do some research and find where your true interests lie. Not interested in volunteering in trigonometry? Then what would you like to do?
From in school competitions, to our creative expressions night, to teacher appreciation events, Hope Academy is always looking for event volunteers. To sign up for our general interest email list, please fill out this form. Upcoming events will be added to this page regularly.
Event volunteers do not need to go through a district application or orientation unless they also plan to volunteer regularly at a school site.
Hope Academy requires that all volunteers receive an orientation prior to working in our school.
