Covenant: a promise, agreement, pledge, and a guarantee The term “covenant” is of Latin origin (con venire), meaning a coming together. We know that a covenant is a promise that must be kept, an agreement, a pledge, and a guarantee of something we know will happen. This goes beyond our sexual purity but includes the intentions of our hearts,  the words of our lips,  and our actions towards others in every aspect of our lives.

Our prayer is that we would give God our hearts,  and in doing so we would trust His pledge, His guarantee,  His covenant in our relationships- understanding that His benefits are eternal and not counterfeit.
